- Artava-ksaya /
Rajakshaya (Oligomenorrhoea)
- Deficiency or loss of artava, the
menstruation does not appear in its
appropriate time or is delayed
(inter-menstrual
period is prolonged), is scanty and does not
last for three days.
- Pain in vagina and lower abdomen.
- Nastartava or Anartava (Amenorrhoea)
- The dosas obstruct the passage or orifices
of channels carrying artava (artava- vaha
srotasa), thus artava is destroyed.
- Though artava is not finished completely,
however, it is not discharged monthly.

This condition is the
description of amenorrhoea caused by endometrial
abnormalities.
|
- Artava-ativrddhi (Metrorrhagia
- excessive increase in
amount of artava).
- The condition is characterized with bodyache,
excessive bleeding during menstruation and
foul smell in menstrual blood.
- This artava-vrddhi refers to increase in
amount of artava an upadhatu (ovarian
hormones), this is memo-metrorrhagia due to
hyper-estrogenic condition.
- Asrgdara or Pradara (Metrorrhagia)
- Due to pradirana (excessive excretion) of
raja (menstrual blood), it is named as pradara
and since, there is dirana (excessive
excretion) of asrk (menstrual blood) hence, it
is known as asrgdara.
