Clinical features
  • The only symptom is presence of excessive bleeding during menstruation and also
  • bodyache and pain are present.
Clinical features of Vataja
  • Appearance of menstrual blood flow:
    In this condition, the discharged menstrual blood is frothy, thin, rough, blackish or reddish or simulates washings of flower of palasa in colour; comes with or without pain. 
     
  • Associated type of pain:
    This vayu produces severe pain in sacral-groin and cardiac region, flanks, back and pelvis.
Clinical features of Pittaja
  • Appearance of menstrual blood flow:
    In this, the menstrual blood is blue, yellow or blackish in colour, hot comes in profuse amount repeatedly.
     
  • Associated type of pain:
    Discharge of menstrual blood is painful with burning sensation in the vaginal region.
     
  • Other Symptoms:
    It is associated with burning, redness (all over the body) thirst, mental confusion , fever and giddiness.
     
Clinical features of Kaphaja
  • Appearance of menstrual blood flow:
    In this condition, the excreted menstrual blood is slimy, pale, heavy, unctuous, cold, mixed with mucus and thick
     
  • Associated type of pain:
    The menstrual blood flow is discharged with mild pain.
     
  • Other Symptoms:
    Vomiting, anorexia, nausea, dyspnoea and cough. 
     
Clinical features of Sannipataja.
  • Appearance of menstrual blood flow:
    The menstrual flow, in this type is continuous and profuse.
     
  • Associated type of pain:
    Menstrual blood flow is associated with colicky pain in the lower abdomen.
     
  • Other Symptoms:
    Thirst, burning , fever, anemia and weakness.
