           'Yavagu' , is a preparation of cereals, likeRice Wheat, Barley etc. It is of three types :
  • Manda - It is the liquid portion of the prepared gruel.
  • Peya - It is the solid portion of the gruel.
  • Vilepi - It is almost a solid preparation, prepared with less quantity (4 parts) of water.
      
Properties of Yavagu
  • Dipaka [carminative]
  • Ruchikaraka [enhances taste], 
  • Vrushya [aphrodisiac]
  • Swarya, Varnya [improves & purifies voice in quality & consistency], 
  • Balakara [energizer]
  • Agnivardhaka [appetizer] 
  • They increase swedana [perspirtion] and give a feeling of contentment and nourish the body.
      
Dose of yavagu
