Ingredients
           Anna is prepared with 5 Parts of water and 1 part of rice. 
   
Method of preparation
           Wash the rice first and then boil in 5 parts of water. When rice is cooled completely the upper manda or liquid part must be removed after collecting the Solid Part (siktha), which is known as 'Anna'.
 
Properties of Anna
  • Well-cooked Anna is good for health.
  • It gives contentment (Tarpana).
  • It is laghu [light] for digestion and increases digestive power.
