The Examination |

Nadi pariksha is done at the root of the thumb by examining the radial artery pulse. The pulse is examined for its normal and abnormal state. Normally the pulse is regular, but it becomes irregular after affliction by
doshas.
- Nadi Pariksha is done in the early morning before taking anything by the patient.
- It is prohibited just after bath, meal and oil massage.
- Similarly, a hungry and thirsty patient is also unsuitable for this examination.
- The arm should be stretched properly and fingers should be in normal stretched position.
- The index, middle and ring fingers are used for the examination.
- The tips of these fingers feel the pulsation of the artery.
- The physician has to put pressure again and again for correct assessment.
