Hypnosis
dates back to primitive times when trances were used to
stimulate self-cure suggesting the patients mind. This therapy
has been successfully used for generations scientifically
validating among the various complementary therapies.
Hypnotherapy
is a form of psychotherapy putting patient in a trance-like
state to facilitate healing or change and is effective for
treating addictions, phobias, traumas and stress-related
conditions.
It works on the
subconscious to change thoughts and behavior patterns. In a trance you are much more suggestible
and compliant than normally and your mind is more willing to
accept new information, but only what you want to hear.
Consequently,
the therapist makes suggestions to store in your mind,
effectively reprogramming them to accept or reject certain beliefs
or patterns of behaviour.
Hypnotherapy
is used with other therapies such as osteopathy or acupuncture
to reinforce their benefits. Its success depends on the subject
co-operating with the therapist.
