Origin of Ayurvedic
Surgery
|
During the golden era of Ayurveda there was advent and spread of new religions, which advocated non-violence. Due to which cutting into dead body
of human beings was considered inhuman and hence was later
banned. This hindered surgeons from practising and achieving more skills in surgery.
In ancient times medical science was under the control of princely states. As the affair of states was highly influenced by religion, the progress of medicine and surgery deteriorated.
Indians suffered a lot of foreign invasions. Among them the Moguls destroyed the existing skills of the vaidyas (doctors). The English being wiser studied the details from available texts and researched endlessly on it thereby laying the foundation of modern medical science.
