Excessive exposure to sun rays can result in skin tumour, and if not treated right on time, can enhance into skin cancer
  • To prevent this one must always avoid excess exposure to X-rays.
  • Numerous patches  appearing on body parts like scalp, face, ear and back of hands is a type of skin cancer more common in old age patients.
  • Fleshy lumps of skin, growing and spreading rapidly to the other parts of body must be immediately taken to the notice of a doctor.
  • Treated by an experienced doctor, skin cancer can be removed by Radiotherapy, Surgery and Cryptherapy.
  • Early detection and diagnosis makes the treatment of the disease much easier, but care should be taken that it is done by an experienced doctor only.
     
Causes
  • The excessive  and unguarded use  of  skin lightening creams is very  dangerous and is the major cause of the disease.
  • These creams contain a chemical called hydroquinone which interferes in the production of melanin.
  • They result in brown patches on the skin  which are caused as, these creams are unable to lighten the post-inflammatory pigmentation.
     
Symptoms
  • Irritation of  the skin, inflammation and also more darkening of the skin. 
  • Patchy discolouration is also noticed.
  • Permanent colour loss is also feared.
