The most common problem faced by almost all the people during  summer is the  extensive itching due to prickly heat. The red pustules of mustard grains size  appear on the unexposed body parts like  chest, back and the abdomen. Temporary relief is achieved by scratching the skin, but may lead to the septic of pustules.

Symptoms
  • Excess sweating
  • Red pustules
  • Itching
  • Scratching of the skin.

An integrated part of summer suffering, prickly heat is caused due to excessive sweating  in covered part of body like back, chest etc. One must use light and loose clothes, so that the affected area is  properly aerated.

Treatment
  • Bath twice a day with cold water.
  • Prepare a thin  paste of  Fuller's earth (Multani mitti) with water and apply on the affected areas. Wash when the paste dries.
  • Grind henna leaves with water and apply on  the affected skin.
  • Apply leaves of neem ground in water on affected area.
  • Sandalwood is the best remedy for prickly heat. Rub a small piece of sandalwood  with little  rose water on stone to make a paste. Apply  this on the affected skin.
  • Depending on the condition of prickly heat, add a pinch of powder alum to the paste and apply twice a week on the affected skin.
