Formulations for vitalizers

The vitalizers (rasayanas) are so called because they help to replenish the vital fluids of the body. Chyavanaprasha, Pippali rasayana, Triphala rasayana and Shilajita rasayana are a few such rasayanas. In addition to these, the Achara rasayana also holds an important place in geriatrics.

Shilajatu

Shilajatu is such a rasayana, which can cure every disease on earth, when used in proper manner and time. It bestows incomparable strength and vigour even to the healthy person.

Preparation and dosage

Purified Girija (shilajatu) is given to the person who has been administered oleation. First the purificatory therapies should be given. Then consume ghee prepared with drugs of bitter taste for three days; then girija (silajatu) with the decoction of Triphala (a group of three herbs-Terminalia chebula, Terminalia belirica and Emblica officinalis ) patola (serpent gourd) and madhuka (mahua tree), should be given for three days. This is the way of shilajatu administration, which is highly beneficial to the body and bestows all the good effects immediately. This should be consumed under proper medical advice.
