Formulations for vitalizers |
|
The vitalizers (rasayanas) are so
called because they help to replenish the vital fluids
of the body. Chyavanaprasha, Pippali rasayana,
Triphala rasayana and Shilajita rasayana are a few
such rasayanas. In addition to these, the Achara
rasayana also holds an important place in geriatrics.

A person desirous of rasayana guna
(rejuvenation) should consume pippali five, eight,
seven or ten in number added with honey and ghee daily
for one year.

Preparation and dosage |
|
- Take five, seven, eight or ten long peppers a
day in conjunction with honey and ghee for a
period of one year. A seeker after the benefits of
vitalization who wishes to get rid of cough,
consumption, dyspnea, hiccup, throat infections,
piles, assimilation disorders, anemia, irregular
fever, should take a course of long pepper
impregnated with the alkali prepared of Bengal
kino and fried in ghee. They should be taken in
conjunction with honey, three in the morning,
three before the mid-day meal and three after.
- Commencing with ten in number, increase by ten
on each succeeding day for ten days and consume
with milk. It should be decreased in the same
manner (reducing by ten each day). After it gets
digested, boiled sastika rice should be consumed
with milk and ghee. This Sahastra pippali recipe
is rasayana (rejuvenator). Strong persons can take
it in the form of a paste while the weak can take
it in the form of cold infusion considering the
condition of the doshas and the diseases.
