When vayu and other humors block the sensory pathways there is a sudden increase in tamoguna, which leads to a loss of the mental perception for pleasure or pain. As a result of the absence of weal or woe the patient falls (unconscious) like a log of wood; this condition is called as a Moha or Murchha.

Treatment |
|
As regards those who are demented by the gods, the rishis, the pitras and the gandharvas, the physician, having ascertained by observing the intentions and the behaviour of the subjects, should proceed to treat the patient by the incantation therapy, suitably assisted by means of appropriate propitiatory and sacrificial offerings.
Worship, sacrifices and libations offered to the gods, incantations and mild collyriums; propitiatory rites and ceremonies; burnt-offerings, prayers, supplications and pilgr../images; observance of the vows laid down in the scriptures and expiatory acts, all these should be performed.
