R
eflexology therapy is good for people of all ages. It treats any condition that needs to be cleared or regulated, for example:
  • Digestive and menstrual irregularities.
  • Stress and fatigue.
  • Aches, pains and inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema.
  • Childhood related problems such as glue ear and pregnancy related problems.

Types of Treatment

Reflexologists work on the reflex areas of the feet to release blockages and stimulate healing. They use several techniques to do this. Normally the thumb and occasionally the index fingers are used.

The most common techniques are

Thumb walking

It is done with the pad of the thumb. Bend the thumb and rest your other fingers around the foot on which you are about to work. Press your thumb into the reflex point you want to treat.

Finger walking
Similar to thumb walking except, it is done with the side of the index finger, using the thumb and other three fingers for support.

Rotating
With your left hand supporting the foot, press your right thumb into the reflex point. Press and rotate your thumb into the reflex point, using your other fingers for support on the other side of the foot.

Flexing
Hold your toes with the left hand while you press into the desired point with your right thumb.
