The vajikarana drugs are mainly used for improving the fertility. They serve as good aphrodisiacs and induce an immediate sense of pleasurable excitement, alongwith increased fertile seminal secretions even in an ageing person. These drugs also increase the strength and stamina of the person.

According to Ayurveda, a man of self-restraint should always seek to maintain his virility by means of virilification, as righteousness, wealth, affection and good repute are dependant on the maintenance of health, which is a means of begetting a son in whom these qualities are based. 
The main aim of vajikarana drugs is to make possible the achievement of the man's desire for an offspring to carry forward his tradition and lineage. These drugs also emphasize on an offspring who is SUBAHUPRAJA i.e. healthy and strong both physically as well as mentally and would become a good citizen in the future.
