The good effects of Sun Cure
depend to a considerable extent, on one of the methods of Water Cure
also. Sunlight improves blood circulation and the
consequent equalisation of heat throughout the body, due
to an increase in vitality and its penetration in all
parts of the body, including the extremities.
-
When there is a pleasant feeling of warmth, a sun bath may be taken by merely basking in the
sun. Take it untill you feel warm. First start with mild sunlight
and later you can switch over to warmer sunshine after
getting habituated.
-
A sun bath does not need any specific position. It can be taken
anywhere, doing anything, e.g. while walking, sitting or lying down on the ground. In the beginning, the head and face should be shaded from the sun until the whole
body condition becomes attuned to its light and heat, so that there is no injury.
-
In the beginning, you can continue basking in the sun until a pleasant warmth is obtained. Later it may be continued till
you start perspiring while
still later for some time after perspiring has begun. Then the sweat should be wiped off with a wet towel that has been wrung out almost dry. Only fairly robust persons should take the ordinary full cold bath; those of a delicate health should observe the hints and
cautions.
-
A prolonged exposure to the sun is recommended in severe cases, where there is great weakness and little response to the methods employed, but the fierceness of sunshine should be softened by covering the body with a piece of cloth kept wet by drenching it
sufficiently in cold water.
