Make-up tips
  • Make-up should be completely natural. Use less make-up all the time for a fresher and younger look
  • Never apply your make-up before blow-drying your hair. The heat from the dryer can make you perspire and cause your make-up to smudge.
  • Make sure your face is clean before your apply make up of any type. The best way to clean it is by dampening cotton swabs with water and then rubbing it gently across your face.
  • Cleansing and moisturizing are the all-important steps before applying foundation.
  • Make sure you give moisturizer time to sink in before you start applying your make-up - it will help your make-up go on more easily.
  • Apply cream blusher in light down- ward movements, to prevent it from creasing and specks of color from catching in the fine hairs on your face. (If you have run out of blusher, dot a little pink lipstick on your cheeks and blend well with your fingertips.)
  • Dust blusher over your eyelids as an instant subtle eye shadow. It is quick to apply, and will give a balanced look to your make-up.
  • Apply a little loose powder under your eyes when applying dark shades of eye -shadow to catch any falling specks and prevent them from staining your skin.
  • Mascara your lashes before applying false ones to help them stick properly.
  • Wipe out excess mascara by placing a folded tissue between your upper and lower lashes and then blinking two or three times.
  • If mascara tends to clog on your lower lashes, try using a small thin brush to paint colour onto individual lashes.
  • If you look tired, blend a little Concealer just away from the outer corner of your eye - it makes you look as though you had a good night's sleep.
  • Brush lightly with powder on wrinkles around the eyes. Too much will settle into them and emphasize them. For eyes that really sparkle, try
  • Outlining them just inside your lower eyelashes with a soft white cosmetic pencil.
  • Make-up over-prominent eyes appear smaller by applying a wide coat of liquid liner. The thicker the line, the smaller your eyes will look.
  • Women who wear glasses need to take special advice on make-up. Women who wear myopic glasses should opt for brighter, bolder shades and a little more mascara than normal. This is because their glasses make their eyes look smaller.
  • If you are far-sighted, your lenses will make your eyes look bigger and your eye make-up more prominent. Choosing lighter shades will prevent your eye make up look over done.
