teeth. The teeth are an amazing balance of form and functions, aesthetic beauty and engineering.
Good teeth are thus an important part of one's health and appearance. Like the skeletal development, the appearance of the teeth and
mouth is largely determined during the years of growth, depending on
the amount of calcium, phosphorous and vitamin D in the diet.

Proper Cleaning of Teeth and Gums

- To ensure all dental surfaces are cleaned,
brush back using a circular motion with the brush.
- Gentle stimulation improves the blood circulation in the gums that is why one should not be afraid to touch the gums with the brush.
- Toothpaste helps to keep the mouth fresh. It is not essential for the removal of plaque although most people prefer to use it. .
- The outer enamel is strengthen and is prevented from getting decayed due to the fluoride, which is now being added to an increasing number of pastes.
- However, the gum diseases which are common to a very large number of people and is the main reason for adults losing their teeth is unaffected by them.
- Bad breath is unpleasant and embarrassing for both the sufferer and the people around him.
- One is unlikely to suffer from bad breath, with the efficient function of one's digestive juices.
- Strictly avoid the use of commercial mouthwashes as they are often too strong and can remove the protective fatty acids on the teeth and gum surfaces, leaving the enamel,
looking pale and unattractive.

Exercising Teeth and Gums

Eating hard and fibrous foods provides the best exercise for the teeth and gums.
- In the prevention and treatment of pyorrhea, wheat is especially valuable.
It takes time to chew wheat chapattis, which are generally taken with other foods.
- The compulsion to chew hard, not only provides the much
needed exercise for the teeth and gums but also helps in the digestion process.
- An excellent tonic for teeth and gums is chewing the unripe guava. It stops the bleeding from gums due to its styptic effect and richness in vitamin.
- Bleeding from the gums is also prevented by chewing the leaves of the guava tree.
A decoction of root bark can also be used as a mouthwash of swollen gums.
